Getting to the marathon and Family Fun Day

Parking is free for runners and £5/car for visitors to the Family Fun Day.

All proceeds go to support the work of Brathay Trust.

Please read the special instructions for runners arriving by car on the Essential Information page. The road will be closed for a period of time for the start of the marathon.

Please allow plenty of time if arriving by car and be aware that once parked, you will be unable to leave the car park until the marathon has started, at around 10.30 am. Family Fun Day visitors and spectators may prefer to park in Ambleside and enjoy the 15-20 min walk to the Brathay Estate. On leaving the site you will be directed to turn left to ensure the most efficient flow of traffic. We have put a huge amount of effort into making parking and traffic management as smooth running as possible so please follow instructions from our marshals. Thank you.

Have an enjoyable day and remember, all the money raised from the marathon and Family Fun Day activities goes to support our vital work with young people around the UK.
