A shirt signed by football’s most decorated player, Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs, is being auctioned on Tuesday 27 April at midday to raise money for Brathay's work with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people.
The brand new ‘XL’ red 2009/10 home shirt is signed on the back by the footballing legend and current BBC Sports Personality of the Year star and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It was signed at the end of last year by Giggs at United’s training ground.
The shirt, complete with tags, a Premiership Champions patch and Giggs name and number 11 on the back forms one of the lots at Kendal based Eighteen Eighteen Auctioneers antiques and collectables (including books and ephemera) sale at the end of April. People will be able to bid online, in real time, leave bids with the auctioneers or enjoy the buzz of bidding in person at the Cumbrian saleroom on the day.
